Write Down Everything!

Ah yes - 5:15 am and I have been up "surfing" the net for 45 minutes, second cup of coffee in hand. Early to rise has been my calling card for my whole life - something genetic I must have inherited from my dad. So here I sit in the dark typing by the glow of the computer listening to the gentle snores of the sleeping house (husband and dogs).

Only three more days until 2007 - I always look forward to the new year - sort of like a "clean slate" - of course, I always make the proverbial "resolutions" although the last few years I have changed the name to goals. I once read that you should write down your resolutions - then pull them out the next new year's eve and check off the ones you have completed, the writer said that it would give you a sense of accomplishment.

So maybe I will try that this year!

The only thing is that I will have to get this old brain to remember which of the 27,000,000,000 file cabinets in my brain I tucked away the storage place of the "resolution list". Seems like my "steel trap mind" has been super heated or something because the steel is getting kind of soft of late - things I could keep in my head now float off into some nether-region of my brain to resurface at the most inopportune moments (usually months after I need the information). My memory can now be truly classified as a "sieve" - and not one of those fine sieves - but a colander type of sieve - one with really big holes. Things that seem so simple to remember - like the second thing on a two item grocery list - just seem to float away. Ah well - the only consolation is that I do not seem to be alone in this affliction - it seems to be fairly common-place amongst those of us who have experienced life for a while .

So - in three days I can use my new 2007 planner - perhaps my first goal should be

Write down EVERYTHING!!

Second goal

Remember where I put the planner!!
